Last Minute Fourth of July Prep

Last Minute Fourth of July Prep

Whew! It feels like I blinked and here we are, two days away from the Fourth of July. If you’re entertaining folks this weekend, chances are you’re starting to feel the pressure.

Don’t worry! Take a deep breath, because you’ve totally got this. Even though the pandemic has drastically altered all of our lives, it likely means if you’re having people over, they’re a small group of friends and family who will be understanding if things are perfect. They’ll just be glad to be celebrating with you in the safest manner possible.

But, now that you’re two days out, there are a few things you can focus on to make the day of the Fourth of July get-together a little easier on yourself.

Two to three days before a party or event, try tackling these things:

  • Clean out your fridge/freezer. You’ll need space for food that others bring and your own snacks and treats that you’re making
  • Do your final grocery run. You don’t want to leave this until the last minute, because chances are you will forget things.
  • Arrange your furniture and do the last minute cleaning. Go ahead and throw up any decorations while you’re at it.
  • Cook any dishes that can be refrigerated and won’t go bad before the party.

Now, what about tomorrow?

  • Buy any flowers that you may want to use to freshen up your home/the outdoor layout.
  • Cook or prep any dishes you can ahead of time.
  • Make a timeline if necessary

That’s it! See, you can totally tackle these things and throw a great Fourth of July gathering.

No matter how you celebrate this weekend, please remember to stay safe, take social distancing precautions seriously and have fun! Happy Fourth, y’all!
