We’re so excited to say the J. Leigh Events crew is expanding as we continue to bring people together across the Charlotte area! Both of our new hires bring creativity and a love for event planning to our team - as well as the same name. We look forward to seeing their experience in motion as they help curate future opportunities for our community.

Sam K.: Project Manager
Sam P.: Event Planner
SK: My favorite types of parties are upbeat and colorful.
SP: I love throwing obscurely themed parties, bringing together folks of many generations. For example an annual Hanukkah party where my Grandma took pictures of friends and neighbors who had never met. Or a Halloween slash one-year birthday party for our cat - where we encouraged everyone to dress up like a cat.
SK: My love for helping others stay organized and getting to use my creativity. It’s like an endorphin rush for me when these two things coincide.
SP: I am a community builder interested in creating solutions that allow us to avoid oppressive systems. Connecting to our neighbors is important so we know how to support one another. In October 2022, I founded Just Plant a Bean, LLC, to grow the number of community and home gardeners in Charlotte!
SK: If I could trade places with anyone for a day, it would be Kristen Bell. I think she’s so funny.
SP: I would not trade places with anyone. I am blessed with a supportive family and amazing friends. I am thankful daily for creating a home with my two partners and three cats.
SK: I am most excited to learn about these fun upcoming events!
SP: The opportunity to learn and work with the J. Leigh team. I have been event planning in the non-profit and coworking spheres for over a decade. It’s exciting to expand my skills to different industries.
SK: Soaking up time with my kiddos or reading a book with a cup of tea!
SP: I love spending time outside in the garden. Our cat, Scorpion George, has a harness and runner, so we hang out together.
SK: I live on the West Coast, but am on the East Coast for more than half the year visiting family.
SP: My 10-year-old nibling called me weird just the other day. Perhaps because I say - “Okie dokie artichokie, home sweet home” - every time I drop her off. Or because I called her weird first, who knows?
