Summer wouldn’t be complete without a visit to your favorite outdoor shopping center - it’s the perfect place to cool off, grab a new outfit, and connect with your neighborhood. We love bringing a community together, so hosting a Family Day last month for Charlotteans seemed like a perfect way to enjoy mid-summer fun while staying local. Who says you have to get out of town to have a great time with your family?
Running from morning to afternoon at the Promenade on Providence, a dozen stores volunteered to give away gift cards and other freebies, allowing families to support small businesses. Kids could play inflatable games with friends, paint their faces, and create masterpieces at coloring stations.
We tempted adults with raffle tickets available for purchase, and everyone was able to enjoy the live music playing throughout the sunny day. For lunch, guests could swing by the local food truck King of Fire, who was there offering a yummy array of snacks.
Events like these are a team favorite as we love seeing families bond and create core memories for years to come. We drew in 300 people for Family Day, and we’re thrilled that parents and kids got to play together and take a break from their busy summer schedules.
A passion for event planning wakes our team up in the morning, but the smiles from happy kids and adults keep us returning to the drawing board for future events. We hope to see everyone out at our next community gathering.
Lucky for everyone, fall is coming soon. We won’t have to brave the heat much longer, and the fall and winter events at Promenade are always a big hit. We’re in the midst of planning Trick-or-Treat events, Santa visits, carriage rides and more for the next several months. You can stay up to date with it all on Promenade’s Facebook page.
Finally, thank you to the amazing vendors who were part of this event!
